The Nigeria Police Chaplaincy Service Command Headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, hosted its annual thanksgiving and carol celebration on Friday, 5 December 2025. Held at Lord of Lord’s Chapel, State Headquarters, Ikeja, the event’s theme was Jehovah Jireh (Genesis 22:14).
Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, who led the command, was praised for his tireless efforts in making Lagos a safer place—so much so that residents can now “sleep with both eyes closed.” CSP Ezekiel Ugbotor (Ven), Protestant Chaplain, highlighted the Commissioner’s trust in God and his commitment to giving policing a fresh, faith‑filled face.
In his remarks, CP Jimoh expressed deep gratitude: “This year has brought successes and challenges, but through your support, prayers, and dedication we have done well. We are truly blessed by God, and it is through your prayers that Lagos remains a safe and special place.” He thanked the officers, their families, and the community for their collaboration and prayers, and prayed that the command would continue to be a source of strength and encouragement to one another.
Bishop Nick Medo‑Uwa, the guest speaker, reinforced the importance of thanksgiving as a Christian culture. He shared a personal testimony about a benefactor who sent him abroad to preach, and how a simple act of gratitude deepened that relationship. He also recalled the biblical story of the ten lepers, noting that only one returned to thank Jesus, underscoring that gratitude is a demand from God.
The event was filled with uplifting carols, heartfelt prayers, and a collective commitment to keep serving God and the community. Participants left inspired, recognizing that a police force that walks with God is a beacon of hope for Lagos and beyond.
