The Nigeria Police Force Chaplaincy marked a remarkable 20th anniversary with thanksgiving, free medical outreach, soul-winning and special prayers for officers across all formations and ranks.
The anniversary, held at Lord of Lords Police Chapel, Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja, was commissioned by Force Chaplain ACP Ven. Joshua Babajide Omoyele, with CSP Ven. Ezekiel Ugbotor as the Lagos State Command Chaplain.
The event drew civilian chaplains from across the world, police officers, stakeholders to celebrate 20 years of spiritual growth and service in the Nigeria Police Force.

Rev. David Ugochukwu Dickson, Coordinator of Area D Chaplaincy, who played a key role in the success of the anniversary, spoke on the impact of the chaplaincy.
On why he joined the NPF Chaplaincy in 2018:
“The reason why I joined the Nigeria Police Chaplaincy is to rescue the perishing and seek for the dying ones, and to ensure that we lift the banner of Christ everywhere we go.”
On the primary aim of the chaplaincy:
“The primary aim of our chaplaincy is service to God and humanity. That is my aim of being part of Nigeria Police Chaplaincy.”
About the performance of CSP Ven. Ezekiel Ugbotor, Lagos State Command Chaplain:
“CSP Ven. Ezekiel Ugbotor is a leader in Christ movement. His leadership is impacting a lot of people both Police and civilians. He lives by example, a life of a father, a mentor, a life that every leader in Christ should follow, because once you are a leader, learn how to influence people positively, people will attribute their success to the person.
Since he came to Lagos State, we are seeing the true work of chaplaincy in all ramifications. Civilian chaplain formations are joining Nigeria Police Chaplaincy because he has a lot of capacity to lead.
He is assisting Police Widows and children, ensuring that churches in barracks preach undiluted words of God to children of police officers and officers in barracks. In fact, he ensures that good men of God who are practicing Christianity pastor churches in barracks.”
Rev. Dickson prayers for the Lagos Command Chaplain:
“My prayers for him is that the Lord will continue to strengthen him with more wisdom, good health to continue his good works for chaplaincy.”
Conclusively, the 20th anniversary of the Nigeria Police Force Chaplaincy is a testament to 20 years of spiritual covering, welfare support, and moral guidance for officers and their families.
Under the leadership of CSP Ven. Ezekiel Ugbotor in Lagos, and with coordinators like Rev. David Dickson, the chaplaincy continues to bridge the gap between faith and policing — reminding officers that true security rests with God.
As the chaplaincy enters its 21st year, the charge remains: To serve God, to serve humanity, and to lift the banner of Christ within the Nigeria Police Force.
