BISHOP CHIDI CONFERS AWARD OF EXCELLENCE ON DCP DAYO AKINBISEHIN FOR DISMANTLING LAGOS CRIME SYNDICATES

SCID Boss Hailed As Tactical Strategist, Intelligence Architect and Frontline Crime Buster Transforming Policing in Lagos

Felix Mbata, Lagos State

At the headquarters of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID Panti, Yaba, history was made as Bishop Dr. Chidi Anthony Chidi — General Overseer, King in Christ International Ministries, President Pentecostal Ministers Forum (PMF) and National President, Christian Police Fellowship of Nigeria, Stakeholders Forum — decorated DCP Dayo Akinbisehin with an Award of Excellence in Crime Fighting and Public Safety.

The honour was not ceremonial. It was a direct response to results on the ground.

Since assuming command at Panti, DCP Akinbisehin has re-engineered SCID into Lagos’ elite anti-crime taskforce — leading precision raids, intelligence-driven operations, forensic investigations, and the systematic dismantling of organized criminal enterprises. From armed robbery gangs to kidnapping cells, internet fraud cartels and violent syndicates, his team has delivered high-impact arrests, major recoveries, and landmark prosecutions.

“We are here to honour a master crime buster,” Bishop Chidi stated. “An operational commander whose professionalism, integrity and tactical brilliance have made Lagos safer. Officers of this caliber must be celebrated.”

THE ARCHITECT OF CRIME SUPPRESSION AT PANTI

Bishop Chidi, who has known DCP Akinbisehin for over 13 years, described him as “a complete Police officer and transformational leader.”

“From CSP to DCP, his record speaks,” Bishop said. “He is an intelligence architect. A tactical strategist. A crime suppression specialist. Any command he takes over, he leaves behind a legacy of zero tolerance for crime.”

Under DCP Akinbisehin’s leadership, SCID Panti has become the nerve centre for combating high-profile crime in Lagos. His approach combines:

  • Proactive Intelligence Gathering – Infiltrating and mapping criminal networks before they strike  Rapid Response.
  • Raids – Dismantling hideouts and cutting off crime supply chains
  • Forensic Case Management – Ensuring airtight investigations that stand in court
  • Victim-Centered Justice – Giving Lagosians confidence that their cases will be pursued to conclusion.

“He is not just a DCP,” Bishop added. “He is a frontline crime buster. A man of integrity who stands on his word. When you bring a case to him, you will get justice — except you are the one at fault.”

BISHOP CHIDI’S NATIONAL CHARGE TO PASTORS: “JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST CRIME”

Using the platform, Bishop Chidi called on the Church to become an active force in crime prevention and community policing.

“The Church is the largest assembly of the community,” he said. “Therefore we have a divine responsibility to preach against crime and partner with security agencies.”

His 3-Point Mandate to Pastors Nationwide:

  • Pulpit Advocacy Against Crime: “Consistently preach morality. A nation of godly citizens has less crime to police.”
  • Strategic Partnership with Police: “Provide useful information, cooperation, and intercession. This enables Police to carry out intelligence-led operations effectively.”
  • Soul Winning as Crime Prevention: “When you win a soul for Christ, you are preventing a future suspect. You are doing preventive policing from the altar.”
  • “If Nigerians come closer to the NPF, they will see devoted, incorruptible and sacrificial officers,” Bishop urged. “I have walked closely with the Police for decades. We have good men and women in uniform.”

DCP AKINBISEHIN: “THE CHURCH IS OUR GREATEST ALLY IN CRIME PREVENTION”

In his response, DCP Dayo Akinbisehin expressed appreciation and traced his relationship with Bishop Chidi back to 2015 at SPU Base 12, Bauchi.

“I have watched your movement across commands, preaching to officers and encouraging them,” DCP said. “You are a man of God with deep trust in the Police Force.”

He then delivered a strong endorsement of Church-Police collaboration:

“We cannot win the war against crime without the Church. The truth is, the Church makes policing easier. When you preach righteousness and win souls, you are cutting off the recruitment base of criminals. You are re-orienting minds. By the time you do that work, our job at SCID becomes investigation and not endless chasing. You are doing the most important job — prevention. We are doing enforcement. Together we are partners in the temple of justice.”

He charged Bishop Chidi to “keep leading from the front as our point of contact” between the faith community and the Police.

PRAYER FOR PANTI AND THE NPF

Bishop Chidi led prayers for DCP Akinbisehin and family, and for the entire Police leadership — IGP, AIGs, DIGs, CPs, DCPs, Area Commanders and DPOs.

“May God grant them divine protection, operational wisdom and strength. May they live to enjoy the fruit of their labour as they secure this nation.”

Conclusively, the conferment of the Award of Excellence on DCP Dayo Akinbisehin is a national statement: Excellence in policing will be recognized. Crime will be confronted. And partnership will prevail.

At SCID Panti, Lagos has a tactical commander, an intelligence architect, and a frontline crime buster who is systematically dismantling criminal networks and restoring public trust.

From the altar, Bishop Dr. Chidi Anthony is mobilizing the Church to be the first line of defense — preaching, partnering, and praying. Professional Policing, Prophetic Partnership  can contribute to a  safer Nigeria.
