President of New Dimension Seminaries International, Bishop Innocent Ochei, in this interview, speaks on the organization workshop and other issues.
What is the primary purpose of the training and workshop?
The conference is to introduce people to the concept of business minded writing.
Who are your target, and the basic requirements for the training?
The primary target is anyone interested in writing to create wealth while educating and entertaining the people.
From your earlier response, don’t you think the program should be inculcate in training for pastors, if yes what’s your plan to extend the training?
We plan to collaborate with local governments and some other government entities to offer the training to youth as well as adults, so that they can have skills that can do more than providing a living for them.
Can you mention some of your school products and their exploits in God’s kingdom?
I will not like to mention names of our ex-students as you are requesting because some might mistake it for name dropping. I am satisfied that you who is interviewing graduated from our school in 2018. Our school has been in existence since February 13, 1996 and we have graduated over 15,000 pastors and other clergy men.
We learnt you have college of Bishops and what inspired you establishing the college?
Yes, we have a College of Bishops and Apostles but being Bishops and Apostles is not the primary reason for its existence. The primary purpose of the college is for the great commission.
However the major objective is to remove every barrier that can hinder you from doing the work of God and that includes ordination, elevation and consecration. Instead of allowing those things to hinder a man of God in any way, after due verification, we offer the services.
How do you rate Christianity in Nigeria compare to other countries you have visited?
Christianity in Nigeria can do better than what we are doing presently , particularly in the area of social responsibility which in turn can move the people into the church. There is no basis for comparison between Christianity in Nigeria and other nations. This is particularly the case when ours is compared to the First World because Christianity is relatively young in Nigeria.
As economy is not favourable across the globe, tithe and offering are flowing as usual. What is your advice to men of God?
Even with the economy being buoyant and irrespective of the economic downtown you mentioned, my advice remains the same and that is, pastors are people blessed with the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit in turn teaches us what to do in every situation and circumstance. Therefore pastors should be both innovative and adaptive to ensure that they create via tent making and backward integration, products that can raise funds and help them to help others in the society particularly the less privileged. As we pay attention to anointing, we must also pay attention to money and character or integrity. These three must be balanced in our ministries for us to not just be successful in ministry but significant in the society at large as well as making heaven.
When next will you organise another programme?
As soon as God permits. In fact we are looking forward to Christian Event Watch magazine collaborating with us to reach the government’s particularly the local governments in bringing this training to more people.
