The Christian Police Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) successfully held its 8th Bi-ennial National Convention from February 11–13, 2026, at Men of Issacar Vision Ministry, Olororo–Ojo, Ibadan, Oyo State. Themed “Christian Police as Repairer of the Breach” (Isaiah 58:12), the convention brought together police officers, retired generals, bishops, pastors, and Christian leaders from across Nigeria.
The event featured prayers, talks, and worship sessions aimed at renewing the spiritual and moral strength of officers, encouraging integrity, and rejecting corruption, injustice, and oppression. The fellowship—founded in 3rd March 2001 at Jericho GRA, Ibadan—continues to play a vital role in transforming the Nigeria Police Force through Christ-centered values. AIG Emmanuel Adebola Aina, who serves as the National Coordinator of CPFN, was present and actively involved in the convention, offering leadership and encouragement to members.
A major highlight of the convention was the dissolution of the outgoing National Executives and the constitution of a new leadership team. The outgoing excos were honored with Excellence Awards for their service. Most significantly, Bishop Chidi Anthony was appointed as the National President of CPFN Stakeholders Forum, a role that reflects his decades of ministry, global evangelism, and humanitarian impact.
In an exclusive interview with Christian Events Watch magazine at the convention, Bishop Chidi Anthony shared his thoughts on his new role. When asked about his appointment, he said, “When I received the letter in respect of the position from the CPFN, to be the National President of Christian Police of Nigeria Stakeholders Forum, I was not surprised, so pleased with the letter, because this is the reason why God called me.” He emphasized that his association with police officers, including commissioners, AIGs, DIGs, and IGs, is part of his ministry, stating, “there are police officers that have good integrity, some are great men of God, some are natural good, but are not pastors.”
Bishop Anthony, General Overseer of Kings in Christ International Ministries and National President of the Pentecostal Ministers Forum (PMF), is widely respected for his philanthropy, church planting, and commitment to peace building. He noted that his work with CPFN is an extension of his calling, saying, “I received several awards from the Nigeria police, but this one I said it is the time I will bring out my gifts to the CPFN to support on the moving of fellowship to higher level. So that people will know that inside the Police there are pastors, and good people.”
On balancing his new role with his existing responsibilities, Bishop Anthony said, “When God called a person, God will equip the person, when God called a man, God will be with the man.” He added that with pastors manning his churches in Nigeria and abroad, he can effectively coordinate his various roles, including leading CPFN Stakeholders Forum.
When asked about working with police, chaplains, civilians, and other stakeholders, Bishop Anthony highlighted the importance of promoting CPFN’s good image, stating, “I have to protect the good image of CPFN, because in every organization we must have good and bad ones, the society cannot condemn all because of one bad.” He aims to change public perception of the police, noting, “When a police man does a little mistake, you find out it will go viral, but when a police man does something good, you find out, it will not go viral and the people are seeing it that the police are bad.”
Bishop Anthony praised AIG Emmanuel Adegbola Aina’s performance as CPFN National Coordinator, saying, “In his speech today, he said that he started with Jesus Christ and thank God today he is also going to retire from Nigeria Police Force with CPFN, that showed that, this is a man of God, God called him into the force to do great things, and God is using him.” He also expressed admiration for CPFN founder, retired AIG Michael O. Daniel, saying, “I was surprised that with his age, he still came and participated actively at the convention, it is something great, great evidence of his passion of things of God, and he has the zeal of things of God in his heart when he was serving and in retirement.”
To CPFN members, Bishop Anthony offered encouragement: “My encouragement to them is that they should not relax, it is not easy when you are into Christ a lot of persecution will come… our reward is over there in heaven.”
Conclusively, the 8th Bi-ennial Convention marked a turning point for CPFN, ushering in renewed vision, stronger leadership, and deeper spiritual commitment. With Bishop Chidi Anthony at the helm as National President of CPFN Stakeholders Forum, the fellowship looks forward to greater impact—spreading the gospel, fostering integrity, and building a police force anchored more in faith and service to humanity.
