The Patriotic Pastors Fellowship of Nigeria (PPFN) recently held its 7th Annual Christian Leaders Conference and award presentation, themed “The Church of Christ and the Kingdom of God”, at Joy Gate Hotel Hall, Lagos. The event, convened by His Grace Archbishop Dr. Francis Shopekan, National President PPFN, attracted esteemed men of God from various Christian denominations.
In an exclusive interview with Christian Events Watch magazine, Archbishop Shopekan shared the inspiration behind the conference and the formation of PPFN. “The organization has been in existence for over decades now,” he revealed. “I emerged as National President about ten years ago, and since then, we’ve been working tirelessly to restructure the fellowship and make it what it is today.”
The conference featured an inspiring message by guest speaker Rev. Felix Meduoye, former General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church, Nigeria. Archbishop Shopekan praised Rev. Meduoye as “a man of the spirit, a man of warfare, a man led by God”.
The event also honored outstanding Christian leaders, including Pastor Dr. Nick Medu-Uwa, General Overseer of Pentecostal Canaanland Mission, and Elder Gbolahan Sanya Olu, Chairman of SAAPROS Company Limited. Archbishop Shopekan explained that the awardees were chosen based on their faithful service to God and humanity, with a minimum of two decades of service.
On the sidelines of the conference, Archbishop Shopekan emphasized the importance of Christians participating in politics. “We encourage Christians to go into politics,” he said. “When the righteous are in leadership, the people rejoice.”
The Archbishop expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the conference, including Rev. Meduoye and the awardees. “May God continue to bless and protect them as they do His work,” he prayed.
The PPFN conference served as a powerful reminder of the importance of unity, service, and leadership in the body of Christ. As Archbishop Shopekan put it, “The reward of men of God is not only in heaven; people on earth will also appreciate them.”
