Felix Mbata, Lagos state
In a profound and moving interview with The Christian Events Watch magazine, Bishop Chidi Anthony, the esteemed General Overseer of Kings in Christ Ministries International, President of Pentecostal Ministers Forum, and National President of Christian Police Fellowship of Nigeria (CPFN) Stakeholders Forum, celebrated his milestone birthday by reflecting on God’s kindness, love, and faithfulness in his life. From his humble beginnings in a prison cell, where God met him in a powerful encounter, to his current position as a respected leader in the Christian community, Bishop Chidi Anthony’s journey is a testament to God’s transformative power.
Bishop, happy birthday! Can you tell us about your journey with God, your endowments, and why you devoted yourself to ministry? What does this milestone birthday mean to you?
My journey with God began in a very unusual and humbling way. God met me in prison. It was in that place that His mercy found me, and His grace rewrote my story. The Lord looked beyond my past, limitations, and failures and chose to show me great mercy. Everything I am today is a product of that grace. My life has become a living testimony that no one is beyond God’s reach. The call to ministry came out of that encounter. Having experienced His mercy so deeply, I decided to devote my life to serving Him and pointing others to that same grace. This milestone birthday is a reminder of how far God has brought me, a celebration not just of years, but of His mercy, His faithfulness, and the power of a transformed life.
What’s your message of gratitude to God, reflecting on His faithfulness in your life?
My heart is filled with deep gratitude to God. When I reflect on my life, I see a God whose mercy goes beyond human understanding. Today, when I look at where I am, I can only return all the glory to Him. He not only saved me but also blessed me and made me a channel of blessing to others, both spiritually and physically. That is something I will never take for granted. Everything I am today is by His grace, His mercy sustained me, His hand preserved me, and His calling gave my life meaning. So, on this birthday, my message to God is simple: Thank You, Lord, for Your mercy, Your grace, and for rewriting my story.
You’ve celebrated many birthdays, but what makes this 2026 celebration unique and special?
Every birthday is special, but this one is unique because of the depth of understanding I now have of God’s dealings in my life. There is a greater sense of purpose, clarity, and responsibility. Also, seeing the impact of the ministry, the lives transformed, and they people God has raised through us makes this celebration deeply meaningful.
As a seasoned servant of God, what life lessons have you learned, and how have they shaped your ministry?
One of the greatest lessons I have learned is total dependence on God. Ministry is not sustained by strength or wisdom alone, but by grace. I have also learned the importance of obedience, humility, patience, and consistency. These virtues have shaped not only my ministry but my life. Every challenge has refined me, and every season has taught me to trust God more.
A heartfelt message for your friends and well-wishers who have taken time to celebrate with you today?
I am deeply grateful to everyone who has taken time to celebrate with me. Your love, prayers, and support mean so much to me. I pray that the Lord will honor you, bless you abundantly, and perfect all that concerns you. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
What’s your vision for the future of your ministries, Pentecostal Ministers Forum, and CPFN Stakeholders Forum as the National President?
The vision is to see a stronger, united, and spiritually vibrant body of Christ. Through these platforms, we aim to foster unity, sound doctrine, leadership development, and impactful kingdom advancement. We are trusting God to raise a generation of leaders who are grounded in truth, empowered by the Spirit, and committed to righteousness and transformation in every sphere of society.
What legacies do you want to pass on to the next generation of ministers of God as a leader of many Christian bodies?
Many are swayed and carried away when the blessings of God begin to manifest. We see this in ministry, politics, and every sphere of life. But my prayer for the next generation of ministers and leaders is that they will remain anchored in God Himself, not in what He gives. I want them to walk in holiness, integrity, and obedience, carrying a genuine burden for souls. If they hold fast to God and His Word, the blessings will follow, but they will never be distracted or led astray. This is the legacy I desire to leave: a generation grounded in God, faithful to His calling, and empowered to do greater works for His Kingdom.
Conclusively, as Bishop Chidi Anthony bows his head to reflect on God’s kindness, love, and desire to impact future generations, we are reminded of the power of God’s mercy and grace. His testimony is a beacon of hope, inspiring us to trust in God’s faithfulness and pursue our calling with humility and obedience. We celebrate his life, ministry, and legacy, and look forward to the impact he will continue to make in the years to come. Once again! Happy birthday, Bishop Chidi Anthony!
